Supporters of Papua New Guinea's ousted prime minister Sir Michael Somare say a failed navy mutiny has not stopped their thrust to have him reinstated as PM.
Former colonel Yaura Sasa, the leader of previous week's unsuccessful coup, was arrested and charged with inciting mutiny at the saturday and sunday.
Final Thursday, he led a modest team of troopers into Murray Barracks and put the commander of the defence pressure under residence arrest.
He said Sir Michael had appointed him commander and he was demanding Sir Michael be reinstated as prime minister.
But by the same afternoon, the commander had been freed and Sasa and his adult males retreated to Taurama Barracks on Port Moresby's outskirts.
